Designed so you can exit the car easily without the risk of becoming entangled in other equipment, the device sits on the back/shoulders rather than over the chest or collarbone like older HANS-type devices. It also delivers maximum comfort and freedom of movement. The Simpson Hybrid S is an FIA 8858-2010 approved head and neck restraint, constructed from carbon fibre, offering protection in frontal and side impacts. With the lowest profile in the industry, the Hybrid S moves with you for quick entry and exit from the race car. The tether design improves manoeuvrability, and the device sits on the back/shoulders, not over the chest or collarbone as with older HANS-type devices. This layout provides better contact with the car and keeps the driver/co-driver more securely held to the seat. The Hybrid S is supplied and prepared to fit existing FIA Hans-posts or can be specified with optional M61 quick-release tethers/anchors. These M61 anchors replace the original Hans-posts. Both the M61 helmet anchors and the quick-release tethers/straps are included with the M61 Quick Release option. HANS - Post Anchor: These tethers allow the driver to use the Hybrid device with helmets that already have standard HANS anchors (or with the correct approval to fit anchors retrospectively). Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2002/FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher. The Hybrid S is supplied and prepared to fit existing FIA Hans-posts or can be specified with optional M61 quick-release tethers/anchors. These M61 anchors replace the original Hans-posts. Both the M61 helmet anchors and the quick-release tethers/straps are included with the M61 Quick Release option. M61 - Quick Release: These tethers allow the driver to release the restraint easily by pulling the cord attached to the helmet. Approved for helmets FIA 8858-2010 standard or higher. Ideal for rallies where the helmet may be taken off and put back on more often (for example between stages). FIA 8858-2010 & SFI approved.
